Dresses from Shabby Apple
Tue, Sep. 04, 2012
history repeats

  • dress: vintage, thrifted
  • shoes: Call It Spring via JCPenney Outlet
  • belt: thrifted
I’ve had this dress since way back in the spring but it needed a really big makeover before it could show its face in public. Like Mia in Princess Diaries makeover. First, I cut out the big shoulder pads and then mom helped me shorten the elbow length sleeves and the hemline. But still I hesitated wearing it until I saw that Modcloth has a dress that reminds me SO much of this dress. But I only paid $3.50 and their’s is 80 bucks. Guess what they say is correct - all styles cycle back into fashion. (I would also like to emphasize how twirly and swirly this dress is. I’ve been really going for that lately.)
