finders keepers

  • shirt (with attached scarf): Anthropologie
  • pants: Dalia Collection via TJMaxx
  • cardigan: Ann Taylor Loft via JCPenney Outlet
  • shoes: Target
  • earrings: craft show

So good news - I found my ring!! It was under the seat of my car, near the door. It seems like a miracle that it didn’t fly onto the ground. A happy dance ensued. In other news, it may not look like it, but it is coldddd again. A sleeveless silk shirt under a pretty thin cardigan was probably a poor choice.

pinwheels

  • shirt: Anthropologie
  • cardigan: Banana Republic
  • pants: Dalia Collection via TJMaxx
  • shoes: Target
  • necklace: Premier Design
  • glasses: Fossil
I’m very dubious about shirts with elastic at the hem. This is the only shirt I own with that design, and it’s only because this shirt is so darn cute that I gave in. Today, I am the victim of my foolish decisions. Stayed up way too late last night and boy am I paying the price. I suffered through the work day by dosing myself with hot tea and playing old Ja Rule songs. It was mostly successful.

vested interest

  • pants: Dalia Collection via TJMaxx
  • shoes: Aigner via TJMaxx
  • shirt: Banana Republic (thrifted)
  • sweater vest: Anthropologie (thrifted)
  • earrings: craft show
I know I’ve already hashed this out, but I’m super tired of this cold & dark early in the evening thing. Every night I gather a jacket, gloves, a fleece headband, a reflector vest, and a flashlight for my run. It is cumbersome. (And dangerous. My father is very  displeased.) And of course, my shoelaces always come untied (provoking obscenities), even though I triple knot the dang things. So my grand conclusion is, layers are good. But not for exercising. Also, I should join a gym. ps - this sweater vest last fall.

pack it up

  • shoes: Dansko (thrifted)
  • dress: TJMaxx
  • cardigan: Field & Flower via Anthropologie
  • locket: gift

Can I just say how much I stinking love these wedges? They’re Danskos, so they’re pretty much the most comfortable/most supportive shoes ever. Plus they move seamlessly from a work dress to skinny jeans. It was a good thing I wore them today because I spent most of the afternoon walking between buildings, moving the contents of my desk to my new office. I have a lot of organizing to do but it’s exciting to have a new and bigger space to do it in!

circus

  • shirt: edme & esyllte via Anthropologie
  • short: St. John’s Bay via JCPenney Outlet
  • shoes: Merrell’s
  • purse: vintage Coach (thrifted)
This shirt has always reminded me of an old school circus tent, I think because of its combination of stripes and tiered layers. But I can’t do any tricks, and lack all acrobatic skills. In fact, when I took gymnastics as a kid, they had to take my aside for private cartwheel tutoring, which still failed to take. Probably a good thing the circus resemblance stops with the top.

boot leg

  • top: Odille via Anthropologie
  • jeans: Guess via TJMaxx
  • shoes: Nine West (thrifted)
  • watch: Eddie Bauer
No, I didn’t wear jeans to work on a Monday. Sadly. I’m at a conference for work so I’ve saved you a few casual outfits until I’m back home.  Boot leg jeans seem to be eclipsed lately by skinny jeans - but I still love you boot leg! You make my thighs look oh so proportional (kinda). Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Out to Lunch

  • skirt: Ruche
  • shoes: Bloch via Garnet Hill
  • shirt: TJMaxx
  • cardigan: Knitted & Knotted via Anthropologie
  • necklace: gifted
My coworkers took me out for a birthday lunch today! And no, you didn’t miss the big 24; it’s not until Sunday. Does anybody else feel horribly embarrassed when a big sombrero gets tossed on your head and a loud birthday song is sung by all nearby waiters?? And check out my newest purchase from Ruche. It’s floaty and silky and the perfect color for the first official day of spring.

Fancy Pants

  • shoes: JCPenney Outlet
  • skirt: Christopher & Banks via JCPenney Outlet
  • shirt: Anthropologie
  • cardigan: TJMaxx
  • belt: Banana Republic (thrifted)
  • earrings: craft show
  • watch: Fossil

I’m always scared to wear this shirt because it’s special, my mom paid a lot for it for my 22nd birthday, and it’s silk. I never want to wear it out with friends because I have horror images of tomato sauce and beer/wine flowing in slow motion towards it. But I decided life is too short to save it, and today was the day to show it off. And I just got this skirt this past weekend. It was a horrible calf length so mom hemmed it for me and made it a nice professional yet more fashionable length. She also pressed it nicely for me, but some things just don’t last as long as you’d like..

Earth Tones

  • cardigan: Eddie Bauer
  • corduroy pants: Jones New York via TJMaxx
  • shoes: Clark Wallabees (thrifted)
  • shirt: Anthropologie
  • watch necklace: Ruche
  • button earrings: made by mom

A very late post today because tumblr has been thwarting my attempts at uploading photos for several hours. Despite my general dislike of shirts with elastic bottoms, I love this anthro shirt, particularly the lacework around the top. Can’t wait for summer to come around so I can wear it alone in all its glory once again. And my sweet little Ruche watch necklace still makes me pretty happy. A comfy, chill outfit for a relaxed day in the office.

the girl with the red clutch

  • pants: Lee (thrifted)
  • shoes: Clark Wallabees (thrifted)
  • shirt: L.L.Bean
  • cardigan: Spotted Moth via Anthropologie
  • necklace & earrings: craft show
  • clutch: thrifted

My shirt turned out looking rather purple/black in these shots, but it’s actually navy. I’m happy that several of my outfit pieces are thrifted today, since I actually went thrifting. I found a nice new (to me) winter coat for only $9.99! Now if only it would cooperate and be colder than sixty degrees and I’ll get a chance to show it off on here. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend.
