all mint everything

image

  • jeans & shoes: Target
  • top: I Heart Ronson via JCPenney Outlet
  • cardigan: Worthington via JCPenney Outlet

I’ll have you know that this title is no misnomer - even my undies are mint. That is dedication. Or maybe obsession with color coordinating. Over an over-share. Either way, I do really enjoy wearing my mint jeans in very similar ensembles as evidenced here and here. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day’s weekend!

hectic

  • dress: Liz Claiborne via JCPenney Outlet
  • cardigan: J.Crew
  • belt: thrifted
  • shoes: Target

Here’s last Friday’s outfit - which seems like a long time ago now! I had a busy weekend between house/dog sitting, day trips, Mother’s Day, my brother returning home from college for the summer, and a mini family reunion with uncles, aunt, cousins, and grandparents. This dress reminds me of my mom, who loves denim in any form, and always has at least one denim dress and skirt in her closet.

highs and lows

  • dress: TJMaxx
  • shirt: Gap (thrifted)
  • belt: thrifted
  • shoes: Target

Well, hello! I accidentally haven’t blogged in six days. Oops. My grandmother was in a serious accident last week, so our household has been out of sorts. She’s still in the hospital, and needs another surgery, but she’s going to be ok. In other news, it’s been raining. A lot. And my mother had a birthday yesterday! We had an unexpectedly long evening out of town for her birthday dinner, courtesy of my brother’s car running out of fuel on the way to meet us. Ohhhh well. Thus is life. Tomorrow, I hear the sun will be shining. Things are looking up.

traditions

  • dress: Ann Taylor Loft
  • cardigan: Banana Republic (thrifted)
  • shoes: Target
  • necklace: Groopdealz
  • bag: Aigner via TJMaxx

Mexican night with my girls tonight! I can’t think of a better way to kick off the weekend than a Thursday night dinner out - which is why it’s a good thing we get dinner almost every Thursday night :) Is anyone planning anything fun for the weekend? I’m house/dog sitting this weekend but I’m hoping to still go do some things Saturday during the day and catch up on my reading and TV shows. And my sleep.

stocking up

  • skirt: Banana Republic (thrifted)
  • shirt: Target (thrifted)
  • cardigan: Zara via TJMaxx
  • belt: thrifted
  • shoes: Target
  • earrings: craft show
  • watch: Michael Kors
I don’t know if you guys have noticed that the vast majority of my earrings are listed as being from a craft show. I go to this one local show every year and this very talented lady sells all kinds of jewelry. She uses leftover pieces to make earrings that she sells for $1 each(!). I usually buy about ten pairs from her each year because they’re all beautiful and super cheap. And this is why I need an earring organizer (it’s a lot more full these days!).

icing on the cake

  • sweater: Alyx via JCPenney Outlet
  • shoes: Target
  • pants: Dalia Collection via TJMaxx
  • belt: thrifted
  • necklace: gift (thanks, Zach!)
Mom just bought me this sweater and at first I couldn’t decide if I liked it but then I decided that winter white was awesome and I’ll have what Mom is buying. Is everyone having as thrilling a Tuesday as me? And by thrilling, I mean a two hour webinar filled with static and people refusing to mute their lines. Also, a jackhammer tearing up the sidewalk outside my office window. But also, a coworker who is taking a cake decorating class who brought us iced cakes. And my Usher Pandora station (I stinking love you, Usher. Forever). And Mexican food with besties. Now that’s a thrilling Tuesday for you.

sugar and spice

  • coat: Target (thrifted)
  • pants: La Bisou via TJMaxx
  • sweater: Gap
  • shoes: Target
  • purse: Coach (vintage & thrifted)
  • necklace: my grammie’s (thrifted)
I actually wore this sweater for some of my senior pictures I had taken when I graduated from high school, proving that sometimes it pays off to hang onto clothes for half a dozen years or more. I’m spending the weekend at my grandparents’ house since I haven’t visited them since August. About a dozen local churches have little gift fairs/bazaars every first weekend in November so we spent the morning scoping those out. Already started buying Christmas gifts ahead of schedule! (And my grammie bought a cinnamon pound cake! Yum!)

p.s. two unhappy puppies who wanted in on the party:

cold feet

  • shirt: Target via JCPenney Outlet
  • shoes: Target
  • cardigan: St. John’s Bay via JCPenney Outlet
  • necklace: Groopdealz
  • glasses: Fossil
  • pants: La Bisou via TJMaxx
Oh heyyy, I finally got my act together for a Friday post! This is a rare occurrence indeed. I like this outfit, but I remember why I favor boots, or at least shoes with socks, in the winter. I’m getting ready to head out of town for the weekend, so, as usual, I’m overpacking. This includes overpacking clothes and books. Have I ever mentioned that I have a phobia that I’ll run out of books? I may or may not keep a few stashed in my car. Exactly like an addict.

indecisive

  • shirt: JCPenney Outlet
  • boots: thrifted
  • mint jeans: Target
  • necklace: Groopdealz
Do you ever have those days where nothing you put on feels right? I felt like that in this and whined that I looked terrible in these pictures and ended up changing before I went out. Now that I’m looking at the pictures, I realize I was probably being crazy/hormonal. But I did want to show off my new necklace/the beautiful colors of fall so I decided to post. Maybe I should give this outfit a second chance?

hush

  • pants: Dalia Collection via TJMaxx
  • cardigan: Strand via JCPenney Outlet
  • shirt: a.n.a. via JCPenney Outlet
  • shoes: Target
  • belt: Target (thrifted)
  • cameo: my great-grandmother’s, gift from my grandparents
  • watch: Michael Kors
I was thinking a lot today about that quote “comparison is the thief of joy.” It’s so easy to fall for that trap. I constantly find myself thinking “why would that guy like me when he could date any other girl?” Or “why would they even consider hiring me when they could get any of those other people?” (Side note: perfect people like these two really don’t help matters.) But then I just have to tell that little voice to hush. I can only do my best. And as my mama tells me, “you hold your head up high because you’re just as good as everybody else.” Cue inspirational theme song.
