Today was fairly busy, and involved some trips off campus, which is always good for making the day speed along! I’ve been putting together a sports brochure for the past week or so, and I think it’s mostly done as of this afternoon… hooray for progress! And now I plan on enjoying my weekend :D My mom was telling me about this huge antique/salvage store about a half an hour from home… thinking I might have to hit that up tomorrow!

So I had this meeting with this dude today about a grant and when I asked him what I could do to help he said “just help me massage the verbiage.” … So that’s what I’ll be busy doing tomorrow - massaging the grant narrative this guy wrote. Otherwise known as editing/writing. Also, it was really windy today, which explains the dramatic hair fling in the next picture.

It’s the weekend, hooray! Today was pretty uneventful, down to the outfit. At least it has some color, though :) Also, below is how I deal with a bad hair day [spoiler: not very effectively? It’s Friday and I’m lazy.]. Best part of the day? During yearbook, we ended up hooking up one of the kids’ computers to the projector and watched basketball for the entire time [or at least until the internet decided it wasn’t going to work anymore]. Sometimes it’s nice being in charge :D

I’m pretty committed to spring already, even if it hasn’t fully committed to southern Virginia just yet - it was 32 degrees on my way to work this morning. But I’m busting out the florals and the mint colored shoes anyway. And Cait’s right - we should take pictures at Pigs R Us (the best bbq in these here parts!) more often, because the side parking lot is pretty perfect for pictures. Also - only a few hours left to enter our Shabby Apple giveaway!

Sorry for my extended absence, y’all! Spring break is upon us, which equals fun trips to NYC and Providence to see my baby sista and one of my lovely college amigas :D It was a fun fast-paced few days! Now to catch up on stuff around here before it’s back to work on Monday - ran a few errands and may or may not have picked a few goodies at Goodwill [hi, my name is Cait and I’m a goodwill-aholic?] before grabbing dinner with SBK. Recognize the foto location? I think it might be one of my faves so far :)

So remember how I said I didn’t feel well on Monday? Welllll I ended up having to call in sick on Tuesday and Wednesday so I’m sorry for my absence this week. After a trip to Urgent Care and lots of sleep, I’m feeling better. Also, I’m so in love with my new coat! I’ve really been wanting a brown coat for work since I have a gray and black one. This was an early birthday present from Mom and Dad, and judging by how much I love my red J.Crew coat they got for me a few years ago, I think this one will also serve me well. (Also, I know, I know. That adds up to four winter coats. I really like coats. Like really.)

I’m still feeling fairly rotten but I dragged myself into work, mostly because I didn’t want to miss this strategic leadership group I’m participating in that meets for three hours once a month. I liked the outfit and color scheme so well that I basically recreated this outfit. There’s something cheering about a pop of color against a February landscape.

I saw this post yesterday and thought hmm, I too have a mint scarf and some winter white. And so this outfit was born. I also saw this adorable squishiness yesterday but you can’t recreate everything you see, alas. Have I mentioned that I’m addicted to reading blogs? I blame(/credit) bloglovin’. You should try it out. Oh and follow tlb when you do :)

This is an example of an outfit that I am less than enthralled with. Or, alternatively, an example of what I wear when I’m really tired and praying it’s Friday and then realize it’s only Wednesday and sullenly grab some pants and a scarf. Some days I just want to wear jeans. Or better yet, stay in my pajamas and veg out all day. Lay like broccoli. I’m looking at you, Saturday.
