I found these boots in a consignment store over the weekend. They look like they’ve only been worn enough to get them broken in - since I brought them home and cleaned them up, they look pretty much brand new! Too bad it’s almost the end of boot-wearing weather… but that’s ok, since I intend on wearing these for a while :)

Another super busy but somewhat productive day… I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s pretty much gonna be a marathon until exams, but at least that’s only two weeks away. I can’t believe how fast this school year has gone! So crazy.

It’s finally the weekend, hooray! I’ve got a whole list of things I feel really compelled to get done over the next couple of days. That always happens when I’m sitting at work trying to get stuff knocked out - I’m thinking of all this other stuff that would be so much fun to be working on instead. At least I have two whole days [?!?] I can take advantage of - sounds fine by me! Also, hooray for new shoes! That’s always a cause for celebration :D

- pants: Zara
- wedges: Forever 21
I had no idea it was supposed to get hot today?!? I have a really awful tendency of never checking the weather in the morning… and I always forget how mercurial the weather is this time of year. I guess one way you can definitely tell it’s spring fo realz is the pollen flying around everywhere. My car legit looks gold [it’s burgundy normally]… so much for washing it last week! At least since it’s warm I won’t have to put that off for fear of turning into a human popsicle.

We convinced Megan to join us for another guest post a couple of weeks ago after dinner one night :) Loooove these colors in her outfit - they’re a perfect choice for transitioning to warmer weather, especially her pants… such a pretty shade of turquoise! Makes me think of summertime and the beach… but I guess I better not get too far ahead of myself :D

I love rando/slightly sketchy photo locations like this! SB and I got lunch at this awesome tiny pizza place this afternoon that’s in a strip mall with a Food Lion, so we decided to venture around behind the building near the loading dock to take fotos [fewer observers of our narcissism, right?!] Didn’t hurt that there was this fun barrier/fence thing that was just crying out for someone to climb on it… which I was powerless to resist :D

This was one of those happy accident sort of layering combinations I decided might work together… most of the time they don’t but I think this one turned out pretty well, at least based on the number of compliments I received at work today [two vs the usual zero, haha]. I’m just a fan of obnoxiously ruffly blouses, so I think any way I’ve worn it has made me happy :D Always good to have happiness-inducing outfits, especially on the Monday after a week-long vacation!

You know Daylight Savings Time is gone when…. it’s too dark to take fotos when you get home so you have to sketchily take them in your basement. Welcome back, standard time - I didn’t miss you at all. I did, however, miss these boots over the past few months… so comfy! I think I need to find some shoe polish, though… the toes are starting to look a little worse for the wear. Does grey shoe polish even exist? Time for some research. :D

As I may have alluded to once or twice, I have a huge pile of fixer-upper clothes bought with the best of intentions, but I don’t usually get around to fixing them up [this is the most notable exception]; so with that in mind, I debated long and hard [about 5 minutes] about buying this top… the fun print and price ($5.99) did me in, though. AND I fixed it the same day I bought it! Yeah… that’s probably never happening again.
Before [or at least halfway through the process… imagine there’s a sleeve on my left arm, or maybe don’t, I’m not a huge fan]….

and after….

Much better.

I pretty much decided I wanted to wear this today, which is always a pretty good impetus to get something like this done :D Now on to the weekend! Maybe I can tackle some of my other things in the pile….

I guess I’m going to have to officially acknowledge that we’re well into fall… had to break out the leggings today for the first time. But as soon as I say that, it’ll warm back up, right?! Fingers crossed. I got this skirt my first year in college [don’t think I’ve actually worn it since around that time either]… can’t decide if I should hang onto it or not, but the colors are pretty much on point for mid-October :D
