I missed this skirt! It’s been quite a while since I’ve worn it… think I’ll have to change that trend :) And now that I’ve linked way too many ways I’ve worn it previously, I think I’ll have to find a color other than blue/grey to wear with it… red is difficult to match I think. Maybe I just need to think about it a little harder, buuuut why mess with a good thing?! Haha. Only two more days till vacation! That is a very good thing :D

Today was a pretty great day - got a decent amount accomplished, ate my delicious leftover lunch outside in the sunshine, and got home and read on the back porch :) And since we’re on summer schedule now, I don’t work Fridays, so today is the beginning of my weekend, hooray! This explains the super late [for me lately at least, ugh why am I such an old lady now?!] post. And now I can’t really sleep late any more since I’m all used to getting up for work. Sigh, working world problems I guess.

In retrospect, I suppose I should have worn this to graduation tomorrow, since it’s all school colors. I did always like that color combination. Too bad an outfit like this wouldn’t have passed for rep dress… I would have been a much happier camper. But let’s be real, I didn’t dress up all that much in high school anyway; I was more of the jeans + hoodie all day erryday persuasion. Thank goodness I outgrew that!

Today begins the epic marathon of closing ceremonies for the next four days, for which I have become the unofficial official photographer, hooray! If the stress level of this is any indication, I will never become a photographer for events like that. Literally one shot to get your shot, no redos. Looking through what I took, they seemed to turn out ok, so fingers crossed there won’t be any craziness popping up when I start editing next week! I’m using all these events as an excuse to dress up… haven’t worn this dress in a looong time but it’s so twirly and wonderful, I should definitely wear it more often :D

Here’s last Friday’s outfit - which seems like a long time ago now! I had a busy weekend between house/dog sitting, day trips, Mother’s Day, my brother returning home from college for the summer, and a mini family reunion with uncles, aunt, cousins, and grandparents. This dress reminds me of my mom, who loves denim in any form, and always has at least one denim dress and skirt in her closet.

Going with a pretty heavy nautical theme seemed appropriate for today’s monsoon-y at times weather. Today would have been a good day to drink tea and read all day long… so after I finish this, I’ll probably do that for a couple of hours to make up for lost time :D

Today was another busy day, but made better by getting Mexican for lunch with SB, and again for dinner at a trade show I had to work tonight! Any day with multiple Mexican meals is a good one in my book :D Also, any day involving spontaneous dance parties at said trade shows makes it pretty awesome too! I’m so glad tomorrow’s Friday, because it sure seemed like it should have been Friday today. But Monday and Tuesday felt like they were swapped, so I guess it’s just been one of those weird weeks where your days never seem to match up for whatever reason.

Another stressful day at work but I made it through and worked off some steam on a really long walk followed by a really fast paced run. Also, I had a grilled chicken quesadilla for dinner so I basically can complain about nothing now. And how sad is it that I bought this shirt at goodwill back in 2011 and yet this is the very first time I’ve worn it?? Shameful, I say.

I’ve been under a lot of stress lately, particularly with this one grant for work, that changed their minds after we submitted and increased our required match from 10% to 50% (what?!). So basically we had to come up with several hundred thousand dollars in match through some pot of money at work on the fly, or we’d leave about half a million dollars on the table. This is the stressful (and, I apologize, dull sounding) side of grant writing. This calls for a wrinkle free skirt. And lots of frantic emails, phone calls, meetings with the vice presidents and president at work. Sheesh. Do you feel me, fellow grant writers??

It was a chilly Monday (temps have been down in the 30s at night!) but I actually wore this a couple weeks ago and never got around to posting. This skirt was one of my favorites last year and I think that will continue to hold true this season. My grandparents are visiting for a few days so I’m spending the evening eating cookies and watching HGTV with them. Not a bad way to spend a Monday.
