Halfway through the busy-ness of this week! I think I’m reasonably ahead of the game, too, so that’s good news. I can’t wait for Saturday afternoon to get here so I can have a little bit of a break, and also because I have some college friends coming to visit me for the weekend! So excited for a mini reunion :)

It’s been a while since SBK and I have taken mall parking lot lunchtime fotos - always something fun to revisit! Especially now that spring is here and the grass is all green and lush [so lush they should probably get on that with the lawnmower… haha] - nice color contrast! You ever have days where you’re running all over the place doing stuff so much that it seems like you haven’t done anything at all? That would be my day. I did get to sit in on a skype conference with a British guy this afternoon and have I mentioned how much I love British accents?! So wonderful :D

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! Here’s a somewhat themed outfit for today… not sure I’m sold on the scarf but it was coooold this morning and this seemed like a good idea at the time, haha. Best pertinent quote I saw today: “Today is the best day of the year to put a diaper and wings on your baby and give it a small bow and arrow to carry around.” Demetri Martin is my fave… he can be my valentine :D

I got this skirt at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago. Please ignore the fact that I look like a hot mess in this lovely bathroom mirror foto:

I’ve been wanting a green skirt for a while [probably since I got to wear this cute one of SBK’s in our swap last spring!] and this one jumped out at me - not because it was fantastic in its current form [hello elastic sweatpants-esque waistband], but because I had an inkling that there was enough fabric there to make it into a pencil skirt from an old pattern I got a while ago. It was pretty darn close, but it worked! And it was already hemmed which was super awesome. I had to put in a zipper and a couple of hooks & eyes, so altogether this skirt cost about $5. Sounds good to me! :D I’m tempted to try this again… that’s the best thing about Goodwill - if you’re willing to befriend a sewing machine, it opens up so many more possibilities. And a big pile of stuff to fix up sitting in a corner of your room. It does that too.

I failed to realize that I framed all my pictures so that my feet were cut off [seems appropriate for my day]… and since it was raining I didn’t feel too compelled to do any retakes. To make up for it I took some pics of my puppy who is still adorable despite desperately needing a bath… haha. It’s good to know I’m at least not alone in the feeling that today should have been Friday - at least three other people I talked to today echoed that sentiment. That’s ok because at least tomorrow is! And not a moment too soon…

Easing our way back into the week with a two hour delay today! Except the part where I had an hour and a half long marketing meeting…. haha. It’s actually gotten warm [above freezing?! I’m revising my standards] today which is quite exciting. Another super exciting thing: I officially have two trips planned in the next six weeks that involve getting on a plane and going somewhere awesome! I can’t believe spring break is that close, but I’m not gonna contest it :D

This is another delayed outfit posting from a couple of weeks ago :D today in honor of birthday/snow day shenanigans I’m wearing my snowflake pj’s and chilling [or trying not to, rather… ha] in the living room by the gas logs working on my epic blanket… it’s getting bigger :D Zac Brown concert tomorrow for official celebrations, hooray!

One of my new year’s resolutions is to actually start using my big camera for all my outfit pics… I have a remote which I actually dug out and used today, and I should have been doing this all along! It’s interesting to go way back in the archives and see the improvements in my photography… hooray for this being a learning experience :D This whole outfit is new, courtesy of a Target gift card I got for Christmas + epic clearance section finds! I especially love the blouse with its tiny little anchor print :D

One more day!?!! So excited for Christmas break :D I’m finishing up making some food to take to work tomorrow and then I plan on turning on the Christmas movies and knocking out some more presents. I’m also extra excited because I’m finally jumping on the iPhone bandwagon [about 10 years after everyone else haha]! Should be here Monday, I hope… that will be a lovely start to this vacation!

I wore this Friday, too, but didn’t get around to putting it up till today… we started working on Christmas baking, so I was in the kitchen for a while making shortbread :D Stay tuned for that recipe, it’s pretty tasty [probably because it has two sticks of butter in it, ha]! Oh, and here are the earrings I was talking about the other day… went a little overboard with the jewelry today I think!
