Another stressful day at work but I made it through and worked off some steam on a really long walk followed by a really fast paced run. Also, I had a grilled chicken quesadilla for dinner so I basically can complain about nothing now. And how sad is it that I bought this shirt at goodwill back in 2011 and yet this is the very first time I’ve worn it?? Shameful, I say.

I had no idea it was supposed to get hot today?!? I have a really awful tendency of never checking the weather in the morning… and I always forget how mercurial the weather is this time of year. I guess one way you can definitely tell it’s spring fo realz is the pollen flying around everywhere. My car legit looks gold [it’s burgundy normally]… so much for washing it last week! At least since it’s warm I won’t have to put that off for fear of turning into a human popsicle.

I love that I can get home late and still take pictures outside now! I got to leave work a little early today and went to help my mom pick out some fabric to recover our kitchen barstool seats, and may or may not have stopped by Goodwill - y’all, I think I have a problem. Only got a couple of books and a sweet old VT mug [circa late 70s or early 80s by my mom’s estimation] though; I didn’t even look at the clothes… maybe I didn’t miss out on anything too epic!

Today looked like a gorgeous spring day [at least], so I thought I’d celebrate with some bright colors, at least from the knees up - my legs and feet are still protesting the cold in their black. Maybe it’ll be nice and toasty soon, but at any rate, it’s nice to see some pretty sunshine :D

Here’s the next installment of Lunchtime Outfit Fotos with Cait/SBK [just to make it sound extra official]! I’m glad there was a decent covered walkway outside the restaurant, because it rained nonstop all day = no way was I was gonna try to take pictures after work. If only it had been about 5 degrees colder we’d be having a pretty epic blizzard… but I think I’m ok with that not being the case, haha.

Every day when I turn into my driveway, I pass this row of hay rolls, and every day I think to myself ‘that would make a great picture background!’ So today I decided to stop and see if my theory was correct :D Gonna have to try this again when it’s a little less muddy/cloudy, too. I also played around with a few photo filters to hopefully distract y’all from the fact that I’m still having difficulties with the autofocus + remote combination… did it work? Ok great :D Happy Monday, everyone!

Some days I go overboard with pictures, but hey, when you get home and there’s plenty of light, might as well take advantage?! Remember when I used to be all into wearing this dress as a jumper? I decided I’d revisit that today… it’s been a while. The past two days have both felt like Fridays… this doesn’t bode well for the week going by quickly. But I’m not going to think about work things right now… I have a date with some DVDs and crochet hooks :D Almost done with my Christmas presents, oh yeahhh!

I love rando/slightly sketchy photo locations like this! SB and I got lunch at this awesome tiny pizza place this afternoon that’s in a strip mall with a Food Lion, so we decided to venture around behind the building near the loading dock to take fotos [fewer observers of our narcissism, right?!] Didn’t hurt that there was this fun barrier/fence thing that was just crying out for someone to climb on it… which I was powerless to resist :D

This was Friday’s outfit, but with the flurry of activity around here, I didn’t get around to posting it till right now. Also, I think I’ve found my next big project to help me along on my path to prematurely becoming an old lady, no matter that I just learned to crochet…Â I may or may not have gone out and bought like 12 skeins of yarn already… go big or go home, right?!

As I may have alluded to once or twice, I have a huge pile of fixer-upper clothes bought with the best of intentions, but I don’t usually get around to fixing them up [this is the most notable exception]; so with that in mind, I debated long and hard [about 5 minutes] about buying this top… the fun print and price ($5.99) did me in, though. AND I fixed it the same day I bought it! Yeah… that’s probably never happening again.
Before [or at least halfway through the process… imagine there’s a sleeve on my left arm, or maybe don’t, I’m not a huge fan]….

and after….

Much better.

I pretty much decided I wanted to wear this today, which is always a pretty good impetus to get something like this done :D Now on to the weekend! Maybe I can tackle some of my other things in the pile….
