I found these boots in a consignment store over the weekend. They look like they’ve only been worn enough to get them broken in - since I brought them home and cleaned them up, they look pretty much brand new! Too bad it’s almost the end of boot-wearing weather… but that’s ok, since I intend on wearing these for a while :)

It’s finally Friday! Today actually went pretty quickly, I had lots to keep me busy and I got to go in late since I was at that trade show last night. Yearbooks are halfway passed out and we’ve made some good progress on ideas and organization for next year, which is exciting! Now I have one last email to send out and I’ll be home free for the weekend… sounds good to me :D

Another stressful day at work but I made it through and worked off some steam on a really long walk followed by a really fast paced run. Also, I had a grilled chicken quesadilla for dinner so I basically can complain about nothing now. And how sad is it that I bought this shirt at goodwill back in 2011 and yet this is the very first time I’ve worn it?? Shameful, I say.

I had no idea it was supposed to get hot today?!? I have a really awful tendency of never checking the weather in the morning… and I always forget how mercurial the weather is this time of year. I guess one way you can definitely tell it’s spring fo realz is the pollen flying around everywhere. My car legit looks gold [it’s burgundy normally]… so much for washing it last week! At least since it’s warm I won’t have to put that off for fear of turning into a human popsicle.

So good news - I found my ring!! It was under the seat of my car, near the door. It seems like a miracle that it didn’t fly onto the ground. A happy dance ensued. In other news, it may not look like it, but it is coldddd again. A sleeveless silk shirt under a pretty thin cardigan was probably a poor choice.

Today looked like a gorgeous spring day [at least], so I thought I’d celebrate with some bright colors, at least from the knees up - my legs and feet are still protesting the cold in their black. Maybe it’ll be nice and toasty soon, but at any rate, it’s nice to see some pretty sunshine :D

I’ve decided that if I can’t wear pjs to work, these pants are the next best thing. And since I did some major altering recently, they actually fit the way they should [spoiler: there’s a tutorial coming up on that :D]! The blouse is a recent Goodwill find; I’m a fan of the knife pleats and how they play so nicely with the stripes #ilovedetails #idon’treallygethashtags #whatev

This is an example of an outfit that I am less than enthralled with. Or, alternatively, an example of what I wear when I’m really tired and praying it’s Friday and then realize it’s only Wednesday and sullenly grab some pants and a scarf. Some days I just want to wear jeans. Or better yet, stay in my pajamas and veg out all day. Lay like broccoli. I’m looking at you, Saturday.

I had full intentions of posting Friday’s outfit on Friday, but I went to go babysit this guy shortly after taking these pictures, and didn’t get home again until around 11pm. And yesterday I was out and about. So a super bowl day post it is! I’ve been enjoying the belted jacket + scarf look several times this winter, but that doesn’t mean I go sans coat. I still shove all my layers down into my long coat and wear gloves. And keep my space heater running at work. And whine about the cold, mostly on the internet. Happy weekend, everyone.

I was [against my better judgment] feeling really compelled to use a Taylor Swift song title for the title of this post [I know…. what?!?!? why????], so I’m really glad Jack Johnson came to the rescue! Anyways, I really love purple and turquoise together. I mean, both colors are pretty great in and of themselves, but when you put them together, you get something even better! I have a dress that takes advantage of this combination… it needs to come out of the alteration pile so I can get it back into the rotation :D
