One day closer to the weekend! SB, Meg, and I all met up for our more or less weekly Mexican night, which was a definite improvement on my day - trying to track down loads of information from loads of different people to put together a brochure by next Tuesday is a little stressful, but hopefully everything will come together in the end :D

I’m loving this new coral colored blouse I got this weekend! I like this color so much that I’m currently in the process of repainting my soon-to-be office/sewing room this color…. epic DIY project! But that is another post for another day :D Today was the calm before the storm at school… tomorrow begins the marathon of closing ceremonies and graduations through Saturday morning, and then comes a music festival and the beach! Bring it on, vacationnnnnn.

Evidently summer has arrived just in time for May… 91 degrees and so humid that it felt like a typical day in July… even had the thunderstorms to go along with it! I usually feel weird wearing sleeveless things to work, so this little cardigan worked well… swingy and loose layers = no extra warmth, and seersucker is always nice and cool… I’m too impatient to wait till Memorial Day, oops.

- skirt: Caitlin’s (thrifted, J.Crew) see how she wore it here!
- shoes: Target
- belt: sash off Liz Claiborne dress
- top: J.Crew cardigan worn backwards
- locket: gifted

And the swapping goes on! I love this skirt! Especially the fact that its seersucker and has pockets. To make myself feel like I had a completely new outfit, I turned my cardigan around. I first saw this done by my friend Caroline and have been working up the nerve to do it since. Plus it fulfilled my desire to have more tops with a low cut back - I just have a thing for dresses/tops that are demure in the front but show a little skin in the back.

I think I got a little carried away with fotos today… blaming it on the weather, which was so gorgeous today! And today is the last day of winter FINALLY YES I promise I’m not excited or anything :D Some recent additions seen here include this ginormous turquoise bracelet [I’d love to find a necklace for it to be friends with] and these shoes, which replaced this really awesome but completely worn out pair of gold flats I had for years [may they rest in peace]… if you knew me in college, you know which ones I’m talking about, and you probably told me they needed to go in the trash too… haha.
PS: I may or may not be a brunette next time you see me… sometimes I get bored and dye my hair, and tonight was one of those nights.

Finally, some blue sky! This is an outfit I wear a lot during the summer [minus the cardi] so I thought I’d give it what may end up being its final send-off for the year; plus, aren’t you supposed to not wear seersucker after labor day? Or is that just white shoes? Or am I just making up stuff? Not like I follow any of those conventions anyway… haha. Besides, any skirt with pockets deserves to be worn all the time. I also am realizing that all the jewelry I’ve been wearing lately has been from my grandmothers… either they have awesome taste or I have the taste of an old lady, both of which I suspect to be true :D
