The rain finally went away! And it so kindly left in its place humidity-free skies and pretty green pastures full of buttercups, which I took full advantage of during today’s photo session. I love all the colors of spring… fall is pretty with its fiery leaves, but spring uses every possible shade of green to its advantage, not to mention all those pretty pinks and yellows! Slash I wasn’t aware buttercups came in tie-dyed versions… maybe they’re the hippies of the flower world? Ha.

One day closer to the weekend! SB, Meg, and I all met up for our more or less weekly Mexican night, which was a definite improvement on my day - trying to track down loads of information from loads of different people to put together a brochure by next Tuesday is a little stressful, but hopefully everything will come together in the end :D

It’s been a while since SBK and I have taken mall parking lot lunchtime fotos - always something fun to revisit! Especially now that spring is here and the grass is all green and lush [so lush they should probably get on that with the lawnmower… haha] - nice color contrast! You ever have days where you’re running all over the place doing stuff so much that it seems like you haven’t done anything at all? That would be my day. I did get to sit in on a skype conference with a British guy this afternoon and have I mentioned how much I love British accents?! So wonderful :D

For all my complaining about wanting it to be spring so I can wear lots of bright colors, of course I’d wear a completely monochrome outfit on the first day of spring. Typical. This is a pretty standard minimal effort outfit for me, but I always enjoy days where I can get away with them; I only had to work for a couple of hours today so it worked out nicely :) Speaking of the first day of spring, this is a weird trick I heard that only works today: get a broom and try to balance it on the bristly end - since the sun lines up with the equator, it’ll stand by itself. Or something… I’m no scientist haha. You should try it… definitely worked for me on two separate instances :D

I would like to bestow upon this week the ‘longest week ever’ award, congratulations, February 4-8! Needless to say, I’m quite excited for the weekend… there are several exciting things going on [an improv show?!], and I have the house to myself, so I think an epic pajama/dance party at some point is in order :D I’m totally one of those kids who have ragers when their parents are gone - my mom was like ‘I would be worried if it was your sister we were leaving at home alone, but not you.’ Not sure if I should be flattered or offended by that assessment, haha.

This outfit was seriously lacking some color, so in a last ditch effort to remedy that, I swiped on some lipstick as I was heading out the door. Much as I do like monochrome, I gotta have me a little bit of color in there somewhere! I’ve missed wearing these shoes… I broke the heel on one of them last winter sometime and finally got around to asking my dad to see if he could do something with it, and he was able to fix it (thanks, Daddy! you’re the best :D)! Lesson learned - don’t rock back on your heels, or at least don’t be too surprised if they snap if you do… oops.

It’s December, right? Because based on these pictures it could easily be September, or May, or sometime when the temperatures are in the 70s… don’t let the jacket fool you, it was warm today! I even cut on the ac at work?! Not that I’m complaining of course :D Now if I had a little bit more daylight to work with for these photos… sounds like a constant theme huh?

Haircut, check. It’s been a while since it’s been this short, but I like it! I like having long hair but I don’t like the maintenance… plus it was time for something different :D Although I will miss the occasional sock bun or fishtail braid…. good thing about hair is that it always grows back!

Happy Friday! So glad it’s the weekend - and it looks like it’s gonna be a nice one! Y’all got any fun plans this weekend? I heard rumors that mine will probably involve food, football, and guns [not as sketchy as it sounds I promise!], and probably some horseback riding and a bath for my gross car if the weather holds… should be a good time out here in the boonies :D

I actually wore this yesterday, but didn’t get home in time to take pictures. Better late than never, I suppose! Today is my [partial] day off, so it’s a good time to play catch up. I have to go in for practice at 3, but that’s fun :D and the varsity team won their first game last night! So exciting - three games in a row! Hopefully they’ll keep their streak going :D
