I’m so confused about the weather now that when we finally have a warm and sunny day, I still wear an outfit that could literally be worn on any day of the calendar year. I’m reading a book right now about Flannery O’Connor, which is set in Milledgeville, Georgia and on her farm, Andalusia. It’s pretty special because I visited there with a class my senior year of college. You know what else is special? Tomorrow being Friday - I’m looking forward to a chill weekend and celebrating Mother’s day with my mom and grandmothers.

It was a chilly Monday (temps have been down in the 30s at night!) but I actually wore this a couple weeks ago and never got around to posting. This skirt was one of my favorites last year and I think that will continue to hold true this season. My grandparents are visiting for a few days so I’m spending the evening eating cookies and watching HGTV with them. Not a bad way to spend a Monday.

I scored this dress back in the winter and have been dying to wear it ever since, so I got my money’s worth over the past couple of days since I wore it to church yesterday and to work today [even though today was a little more chilly]. I can see this being a staple once it gets miserably hot and humid this summer because it’s so lightweight!

Happy Friday, y’all! And it was a pretty one, which was nice considering we had a pretty insane thunderstorm last night… there were rumors of tornadoes but thankfully the roof stayed intact over my head because I was too comfortable to move to the basement. That’s a good excuse, right?! Today went much faster than the rest of the week seemed to - had lots to keep me busy but finished everything right before it was time to go. I like days like that :D

Today was so pretty that I stared out the window all day at the sunshine filtering through the trees till it was time to go home, then I rode home with the top down! I think spring might finally be showing up?! Fingers crossed. Also, my cat is a pro at her glamour shots… she was trying to be in all of my pictures so I gave up and just started taking pictures of her. If I’m not a cat lady yet I must be well on my way haha.

One upside to this chilly spring we’re having is I’m getting remarkable good out of my floral trench coat, which is typically only worn for a couple brief weeks each spring. Also, I’m excited to finally get some new black heels! My last pair has a busted heel, plus these are all cushiony and padded. Bonus. Doesn’t it feel like it should be at least Thursday already? I did make the most of today, finishing up this book and running in the daylight.

I ended up having to go in to work for about an hour, so nothing too fancy today! I thought I’d already had this outfit on here, but after doing some research, I found some similar but not quite identical ones. Something that I haven’t had on here yet are these cute earrings I got when I was in NYC over spring break - got them at the Brooklyn Flea! That’s a place I could definitely use more of in my life… so much cool stuff to peruse :)

Well, Caitlin and I inadvertently went for a thrifted theme today when we met for lunch and pictures because I also have a heavily thrift shopped outfit today. In other news, I had Mexican for both lunch and dinner today and I was pretty pleased about it. And I just finished this book, which I always remember my parents talking about, since one of their teachers got in trouble for assigning it to their class back in high school.

Made it through another week! And another month for that matter. I can’t believe it’s already March! And I’ve started to see daffodils venturing out of the ground, always a good sign :D I decided to take pictures at the end of my driveway today… maybe I should see how many days I can go without repeating a background at my house. I bet I could get a solid three weeks at the very least!

I’ve decided that if I can’t wear pjs to work, these pants are the next best thing. And since I did some major altering recently, they actually fit the way they should [spoiler: there’s a tutorial coming up on that :D]! The blouse is a recent Goodwill find; I’m a fan of the knife pleats and how they play so nicely with the stripes #ilovedetails #idon’treallygethashtags #whatev
