This is my equivalent of a lazy work outfit, picked out in a sleepy state after driving over four hours to get back from my conference. I found out I got a big grant I submitted a while back, so my campus will be getting two brand new biology labs! Great success! Also, three day weekend? I’m in.

Today was one of those deceptive days where you think you’re not going to have much to do… juuust kidding! But at least it makes the day go faster :) And now all the kids in the lower school have a pretty class picture, plus or minus a few goofy faces, haha. I also got to have dinner with SB, Lucy, and Meg in Greensboro tonight, which was awesome! We’re making improvements on getting our schedules to cooperate and see each other all together more than once or twice a year… this makes me very happy :D

Everything is finally all pretty and green outside! And I think the pollen might be mostly washed away after the rain we’ve had over the past couple of days… fingers crossed. I’m excited for my day off tomorrow - I went to JoAnn’s after work to get some fabric for my newest project, which you will most likely be seeing on here soon :D

It’s finally the weekend, hooray! I’ve got a whole list of things I feel really compelled to get done over the next couple of days. That always happens when I’m sitting at work trying to get stuff knocked out - I’m thinking of all this other stuff that would be so much fun to be working on instead. At least I have two whole days [?!?] I can take advantage of - sounds fine by me! Also, hooray for new shoes! That’s always a cause for celebration :D

Mexican night with my girls tonight! I can’t think of a better way to kick off the weekend than a Thursday night dinner out - which is why it’s a good thing we get dinner almost every Thursday night :) Is anyone planning anything fun for the weekend? I’m house/dog sitting this weekend but I’m hoping to still go do some things Saturday during the day and catch up on my reading and TV shows. And my sleep.

Today was so pretty that I stared out the window all day at the sunshine filtering through the trees till it was time to go home, then I rode home with the top down! I think spring might finally be showing up?! Fingers crossed. Also, my cat is a pro at her glamour shots… she was trying to be in all of my pictures so I gave up and just started taking pictures of her. If I’m not a cat lady yet I must be well on my way haha.

One upside to this chilly spring we’re having is I’m getting remarkable good out of my floral trench coat, which is typically only worn for a couple brief weeks each spring. Also, I’m excited to finally get some new black heels! My last pair has a busted heel, plus these are all cushiony and padded. Bonus. Doesn’t it feel like it should be at least Thursday already? I did make the most of today, finishing up this book and running in the daylight.

It’s still cold. I’m still protesting by wearing clothes that are more suited to warm weather, because that totally works :D Today was fairly busy, which is always good for making the day go faster. I took my yearbook class for a celebratory lunch at the mexican restaurant in town since we’re done with all the design stuff, hooray! Maybe we should just do that every day instead of have class now… hmm. Also, gotta give SBK a shoutout since yesterday was her birthday! Gettin’ old like the rest of us :D

Well, Caitlin and I inadvertently went for a thrifted theme today when we met for lunch and pictures because I also have a heavily thrift shopped outfit today. In other news, I had Mexican for both lunch and dinner today and I was pretty pleased about it. And I just finished this book, which I always remember my parents talking about, since one of their teachers got in trouble for assigning it to their class back in high school.

Now that I’ve chosen this title, I feel like it sort of sounds like somebody trying to say “tear drops” with a mouth full of marshmallows… I just recently found this cute little peplum polka dotted top and thought I was going to have to wait to wear in the spring, but the eerie winds and storms and convenient seventy degrees today changed that. In other news, I just found out we were awarded $200,000 for a grant I submitted right before Christmas break! Woot woot!
